CASPAR Training Day for the Cultural Domain
All those involved in memory institutions are more and more faced with the problem of managing an increasing amount of Digital Objects (it does not matter whether they are “born digital” or are the “digital surrogate” of physical objects) and, more importantly, are faced with the problem of how to preserve those digital objects for future generations, in line with the main mission of the memory institutions. The seminar will present in detail a real case study, in order for the attendees to get an understanding of the main digital preservation issues and challenges when applied to the Cultural Heritage sector, and an appreciation of the range of roles and responsibilities involved with digital preservation activities.
