In the context of CEF project, a training workshop was held in 7-8 December at York, England. The main goal of the workshop was to re-activate the CARARE community so as to improve or update their content in Europeana. For this reason, the new tools for mapping (MINT) and aggregation (MORe) were presented and issues about the quality, metadata enrichment and publishing in Europeana were discussed. The first day, the content providers had the ability to have a quick preview of these all issues through relevant presentations while the second day they had a hands-on experience and were trained to use in a proper way the tools.
The Digital Curation Unit is responsible for the mapping of CARARE schema to EDM (model used by Europeana) and mainly for the content aggregation. MORe is an aggregator which is de-centralized, scalable and micro-service oriented. It lives on the cloud and it can handle multiple intermediate schemas. The workflow of MORe includes services like harvesting, validation, ingestion, transformation, enrichment, previewing and publishing.
